TPMtv at Netroots Nation: Don Siegelman


The Karl Rove-tinged (ok, maybe not so much tinged as... paintball-cannoned?) prosecution of former Democratic Alabama Governor Don Siegelman has been a huge topic for us here at TPM. This morning TPMtv caught up with Siegelman to ask him about his case, which is now pending appeal and being investigated by the Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility. Or is it? According to Siegelman the OPR has been dragging its feet:

After the elections, it will not matter to the next administration whether Don Siegelman is innocent or guilty.

Accountability for this entire matter, just like no accountability the FISA matter, just like no accountability for the politicalization of the DOJ, Blackwater, "no bid contracts", just like the cirucmstances of what led up to the attack on Iraq, will be swept under the rug by the new administration in favor of "business as usual".

Our government is too corrupt to back out of its ways now.

You don't have to be a blind conservative not to see it, just an ignorant one to deny it.
