DNC '08: The Funky Convention, Episode 27

As part of our broader endeavor to cover the stories the big networks are ignoring this week, TPMtv brings you another installment in its ongoing series, "DNC '08: The Funky Convention." [Ed. note: not an ongoing series, name just now made up.]

On Monday night TPMtv treated you to the sights and sounds of the Pepsi Center house band, known by many as The FunKeyBoards. [Full disclosure: TPMtv got the little kid's room of TPM's Denver Convention Headquarters, which room contains, along with some Legos and Lincoln Logs (no, Mark Halperin, not Land of Lincolner Logs, for the love of God, just Lincoln Logs), a computer with a cute little multi-colored Fun Mouse™ and matching multi-colored FunKeyBoard™, the beauty of which name TPMtv will leave you to ponder and eventually appreciate in full.] On Wednesday TPMtv hit the streets of Denver and encountered, among other things, some different but equally funky forms of musical expression. Here we have a man called Tony B Conscious, "The Obama Hip Hop Hype Man," spitting some ill freestyle fire to inspire and never tire:

How does TPMtv know the full name and professional title of the man rapping in this video? Funny you should ask. If you listen closely to the very end, Tony B Conscious drops the rhyme, "Yo my man, over there with the camera in his hand." TPMtv was in fact the very "man ... with the camera in his hand" whom Tony B was addressing. Just after the feed cut out there Tony B beckoned TPMtv back and gave it his business card, which includes the address of Tony B's myspace page - www.myspace.com/TonyBConscious - and youtube channel - www.youtube.com/TonyBConscious - which TPMtv sincerely encourages everyone to check out.

But the furious funk flow-train doesn't stop there, folks. Shortly after TPMtv's encounter with Tony B Conscious it came across this fellow, name and professional title unknown but believed to be Flute Guy, "The Denver Street Flute Man." Little ham and eggs comin' at you, hold on people, hope you got your griddles:

Uuhh! Uuuughhh!
