Just Try Taking This Seat from TPMtv
TPMtv arrived at Invesco Field extra early today and landed this impossibly sweet spot in the press box, looking out directly over the field that in a few more hours will be the site of Barack Obama's convention speech. The room has already filled to capacity and a rotation has begun whereby media members will be cycled through on a half-hour-in, hour-out basis. TPMtv hasn't been asked to move yet. When it is, it fully intends to start blindly clubbing people unconscious with the TPM hand mic it is gripping tightly in one hand just under its desk. This seat is too good! As Xzibit once said, "I might leave in the bodybag but never in cuffs!"

I've been waiting for an opportunity to post these lyrics from Tupac's song "Changes." Your quote from Xhibit might be as close a connection as I ever get:
I see no changes. All I see is racist faces.
Misplaced hate makes disgrace for races we under.
I wonder what it takes to make this one better place...
let's erase the wasted.
Take the evil out the people, they'll be acting right.
'Cause mo' black than white is smokin' crack tonight.
And only time we chill is when we kill each other.
It takes skill to be real, time to heal each other.
And although it seems heaven sent,
we ain't ready to see a black President, uhh.
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact...
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks.
But some things will never change.
CHANGE! HOPE!

Please comment about:
1. (Regularly) about how many people are in the stadium (fill %)
2. Whether there are people outside the stadium who can see into it (like Chicago's Wrigley Field where nearby building roofs have visibility into the stadium).
3. What is the weather?
4. Are there refreshments being sold like at a baseball game?
5. Are there preliminary speakers, music, etc., and has it started?
6. Are you able to see the field if you're not actually in the booth? Is there a 'standing room' section?
7. Is there a big area for bloggers a tent nearby or other rooms available with TV feeds?
8. What kind of surrogate availability / spinmeisters are available for you now or will be made available later?

I'm specifically interested in whether they are selling booze. The thought of a bunch of beer-addled PUMAS and Clintonistas causing a ruckus comes to mind.

From that spot in the press box, it looks as if Obama is going to stand out there in front of... well, it looks like.. it's hard to describe... almost unimaginable... I can't believe I'm saying this but it looks like... wait.. it is! It's ROMAN COLUMNS! It's practically a GREEK TEMPLE! It's sort of a hybrid! ROMANEEK! Wait, no! It's GREEMAN! A GREEMAN TEMPLE! The nerve of this guy thinking he should ever appear in front of a Greeman temple.

You don't have to pee.
You don't have to pee.
You don't have to pee.
You don't have to pee.
Just keep repeating that.

"Hi, how's it going...hey, I'm gonna need this space in the press box, so if you could move to some of the empty seats out there, that'd be just just great, m'kay?"
Stand your ground, Sir! For the good of the Republic: STAND YOUR GROUND!

All I can say-you lucky sons of TPM.
By the way, if you see any Gibson or Stephanapoulis, or Scarborough can you just knock on their head to see if its empty?
If you see Pat Buchannan, just push him onto the crowd, that will do for life.

I was gonna say you guys have crossed the threshhold to the kind of perseverance that wins Pulitzers until I saw the video. From there you might as well be in the blimp.
