Kudos to both Kurtz and Fineman -- and TPM. This is one of the best commentaries and analyses that I've seen about what seems to be a new, ugly flare-up in America's Culture Wars.
Great, great interview.
I hope that many people see this -- lots of insights here, particularly about the way that tabloids have merged with 'legit news' in the minds of those who are really throwing gas on the fires of the Culture Wars. Interesting, also, to see how well Fineman's comments synch with what Joe Klein is reporting about being bullied by GOP campaign strategists. Good to see the press fed up with being bullied -- more of this, please!
This little gem belongs in a time capsule, because it synthesizes a great deal about the times in which we live.

Thanks, David. Very good interview. I always love hearing Fineman because he's the closest thing we have to a fly on the wall in the back rooms where the strategies are hatched. And to complement his stubborn, old-school insistence on actual , he has an exceptionally healthy does of cynicism about it all. You never quite get enough of him on MSNBC, and it's good to find that he's even more informative in longer form.
