CAFFERTY: Last Friday, I ran an excerpt of Katie Couric's interview with her on THE SITUATION ROOM. Somebody put it up on YouTube. It got almost a million hits of people looking at that thing on YouTube. It was breathtaking.Oh, you mean this YouTube video?
Jack, that was me! Ben Craw, alias TPMtv! Not just somebody - ME! It has over a million views now, Jack [1,082,413 as of the time this blog post went to press]. And yes, it was and is breathtaking. We did it baby! This means we're friends now, right Jack? Ok, ok, just say TPMtv's name on air. That seems only fair. You know what, don't even worry about it Jack. It's cool. TPMtv makes youtube superstars when it rolls over in its sleep. Ain't no thing, man. Ain't no thing.

Jack seemed awfully subdued in this feature compared to the one that got on TPMtv and subsequently youtube. He must have been scolded. Poor guy...God, I love him.

First of all, it was CNN footage that he (stole) and put up on YouTube, it was CNN who (stole) the CBS footage. But in this case, it's Ben who deserves all the credit for the million + views. His editorial decision - to pluck from the hundreds of hours of daily news and punditry a peach of a clip that was powerful enough to make the crotchety and usually inconsequential Jack Cafferty into an instant super-star - was the stuff of legends. Well done, Sir.

Inconsequential is debatable, but crotchety is not. McCain owns that franchise this year. Cafferty is a warm and fuzzy also ran in that category.

By the way, Jack lost his wife of many years quite recently. I am happy for him that his career seems to be rockin, and he in it.
Not sure Wolf is so excited about the whole deal, if their body language in the two clips is any indicaton. Remember that Wolf earned his brown stripe with the Bushies back in the first Gulf War by ratting out some of his fellow journalists for attempting to smuggle out footage that hadn't been cleared by the pentagon. His career has gone well ever since.

Well, if you saw the first clip, you'll notice that Wolf made a game effort after Cafferty went medieval on Palin of declaring that she had clearly been learning a lot in recent weeks.

Whoever is recording her all the time must have amazing stuff.
In fact anyone allowed near her must have a bag full of mind blowing moments.
Wonder what it's like to hear her talk about something she knows.
Does she still manage to end up in uncharted regions?
Why are people being so weak when they say she's out there?
Look what happened to good ol dr dean when he said arrrrrrrrh to loud.
Was it because he is a guy? Or is shouting because you are excited ........non-something?
In his case that one noise ended his campaign.

All I can say is I applaud Jack Cafferty for saying what he really thinks and, furthermore, for shutting down Wolf Blitzer when he attempted to make an excuse for Sara Palin's pathetic response to Katie Curic's question. Cafferty rises high in my estimation and can hold his head up high. Enough of this The Empress Has No Clothes syndrome.

I always thought Katie was a lightweight, and I made sure NOT to watch her on the evening news. (Hated that gummy grin). But she's learned a lot, and after watching all these clips, hilarious and frightening at the same time, I am coming to have enormous respect for her. She kept a straight face throughout, which is superhuman talent in my book. Had it been me, I'd have been laughing my ass off...and then, of course, I would have been fired.
Good work, Katie. I'll start watching now.

You seriously expect to get credit for posting someone else's content to YouTube? This is like people who sample wanting credit for being musicians. Everything gets posted to YouTube. So every yahoo who takes five minutes to upload something to YouTube should get a shout out on national TV? Why don't you try doing something worthy of getting credit for?

Palin needs to appear on "Are you smarter than a 5th Grader" as it is closer to the actual truth of the question of her being ready for the position of VP and possible top spot if something happens to the senile peanut.
